I have a bunch of good stuff to report today…First off I’m excited to say that I finally finished my seat cushions for the four patio chairs that I scored at a thrift store about one and a half years ago. I love these seats so much that it’s kind of a shame to keep them hidden until spring when I can put them out on the patio to go with the finished table. That’s why I have one in the living/dining/family (everything) room and one out on the patio keeping the table company during winter, ha! Since it gets very cold and wet here during winter, I’m a little nervous about keeping them out there, but there is just no room inside this little cottage. Anyway another story, but hopefully since the patio is covered now, they will keep well.
Absolutely the first time I’ve tried cording on anything, so it was a real challange. But it was a fun challange. I have to say this, if I had the rest of my life to just paint furniture and sew cushions to go with them I’d be a happy camper all the way! I enjoyed it that much. I had myself a good old time… put on my favorite Jane Austen BBC version movies, drank lots of coffee and opened up the Minding My Cottage sewing studio for a few days.
Sewing studio challenge! I used Ikea seat cushions and material from a twin duvet sheet. Patterned the cushion according to the Ikea cover. Just kind of measured and went from there!
Pinning on the cording.
Time to fit the pieces.
So that’s it, another project finished. I am so looking forward to spring when I can put all these outside. Will do a photo shoot with the whole set then.
By the way, this is what Archie is doing while the sewing studio is opened:
What a life!
Now I’m off to lunch and reading a few more lines from a book I just received in the mail yesterday. “Inspired You” by Marian Parsons aka. Miss Mustard Seed (http://missmustardseed.com/). I love this book, it just speaks volumes about decorating on a budget and about trusting in God.
Plus, she’s a fellow brat, gotta love her just for that!
Is it too early to wish you a happy weekend? No, of course not … have a lovely weekend!
