Hello Friends! How are you all this spring day? I’m doing wonderful so far, the birds are singing outside and it’s promising to be a great day…it’s only 6 in the morning, but I love this time of day. It seems like anything is possible!
Last week on my Facebook page, I showed you a preview of the ruffled pillow I made for LittleJ (formerly known as Sweetpea). It was her Christening and I wanted to make her something special using her ‘Taufspruch’ (her Christening verse). I love doing art with words, but since LittleJ is still so small I thought I’d make a pillow with her verse. Something she can hold on to… in every sense of the word.
Here is the finished piece and a few pics for following along in the making process:
It’s Psalm 139:5 You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.
I love this verse that her parents chose for her, I hope it will guide and comfort her all of her life and that she knows God has her covered no matter what.
I love the idea that these bandanas where from LittleJ’s great-grandma. Since she was christened on great-grandma’s birthday, it makes it extra special I think.
The only thing I had a little trouble with was getting nice strips for the ruffle. All the bandanas I had in the desired color where cut to a triangle, so I had to figure out how to make strips. Let’s just say, there is a lot of piecework in this.
There ya go, another project finished. I hope sweet LittleJ enjoys cuddling with this pillow!
Take care everyone!
