I Hope everyone had a nice first Advent! We had a slow day, we didn’t cook because ET brought Chinese food home after church, later we took a walk along the re-naturalized part of the Neckar river.
Amazing what they did with the Neckar in our area, they are re-naturalizing parts of it and you can just see the wildlife thrive there.
And it’s fun to walk along the new beautiful banks of this river. We had coffee at my sister-in-laws; she made a delicious Stollen for the first Advent (a Christmas cake).
Except for the Advent candles on our table, I haven’t got any Christmas decorations out yet, but I’ve got that planned for this week.
I’m going to try and keep things very simple this year, maybe put up our tree outside on the terrace so we can enjoy looking at it through the window and it will light up the dark backyard outside also.
We don’t have a whole lot of room in our dining/living room so the extra space will be nice when we have guests over. But I’ll have to set it up outside and see what it looks like before I make a permanent decision.
I’ve often contemplated not having a tree at all and one year didn’t, but there just seemed to be something missing in the whole arrangement. Isn’t it funny how conditioned we are into thinking we HAVE to have a tree?
I do want to do some decorating, but will try to keep it natural … the internet is full of inspiration for decorating with natural materials, and I’m so ready to be inspired, aren’t you?
Wishing ya’ll a wonderful week ahead!
