Easter has come and gone spent with family and friends and good eating. I must have gained at least 10 pounds. We had grilled lamb, buffalo wings, cornbread, satziki, greek salad and much much more.
Even with Easter over, Spring is keeping us waiting in these parts, and with so many things to do outside it can get frustrating. For instance, ET started knocking all the tiles and stones off the upstairs balcony in order to redo it, but since it has been raining every weekend for about 3 weeks and snowing for the last 3 days, we haven’t been able to continue work on it.
So I’m going to share some of the things that ARE done around here just to get my motivation machine going:
This is my first (and only) slipcovered chair, which I am pretty proud of because I had no instructions whatsoever. There are some details that did not come out very well, but again, this is my first try at slipcovering. I definately want to do more.
Here is the lovely “Schrank” cabinet we inherited from my mother-in-law. It used to be a dark mahagony color which was way too dark for our tastes, so we spent a great deal of last summer sanding, waxing and polishing it. Didn’t it turn out great?
Other views around the house that keep me motivated to not give up this work in progress.
