So much has been happening, some good but some not good. I went into this posting business thinking I will just post things to do with the house and garden and keep personal stuff off this blog. But every blog is personal and I can’t help myself, so I’ve gotta say this before I write about happier things:
Our cat, Archie is gone also…he’s been gone since Thursday and of course I’m worried. There was a big rain storm the night he was out, that might have something to do with it. We have gone out looking and calling for him several times without success. He was gone before and either we found him or he came back on his own, but this time he hasn’t come back.
Everyone always says a cat will be a cat, but of course the heartstrings are attached and I find it hard to concentrate on other things when all this stuff is going on.
I know it looks like I haven’t been minding my cottage much lately with all the pics of other places I am posting. But looks can be deceiving…we have been working so hard on our landscaping these past weeks. Laugh here because when I say landscaping I’m talking about a long, narrow, sloping mass of dirt behind our little row house. I’ve got to give credit to my dear husband because he took the last few weeks off just to work on this place. One day when most of the big jobs are done, I will post some before and after pics you will see how hopeless it seemed.
That’s me in the cowboy hat trying to clean up some old stones to re-use. ET used the old stones to form the low wall between the patio and flower bed. I had to dig up the roses, the rhododendron and the magnolia and plant them elsewhere so we can sow grass in one area. It’s an experiment too see if the plants will survive in their new environment, two of the roses are gone, but the magnolia is still going strong and the rhododendron has actually gotten better (probably the type of soil).
